We know that different students have different needs. That's why, at Barrier Breakers®,  we offer hourly advising for students who aren't yet ready, or don't need, to commit to an entire comprehensive package.

Hourly advising includes strategy calls and essay editing and can be customized to your needs. 

If you just need quick, targeted guidance, you can book a one-hour Strategy Call to get clarity on your school list, personal statement idea, or overall application strategy.

If you’re looking for more structure and community, our 12-week Boot Camp provides group-based coaching, personalized essay feedback and revisions, and accountability to help you complete your core materials.

And if you want full, personalized support, our 1:1 Advising Packages offer comprehensive guidance—from your first draft to your final application—with ongoing mentorship throughout law school.

As a non-profit organization, Barrier Breakers®, Inc., we work hard to make sure that we’re increasing access to first-generation and low-income law school applicants. For our hourly advising, we offer a 50% off to students who qualify for an LSAC Fee Waiver.

 

For our comprehensive packages, every law school advising package purchased allows us to gift a package to a student who qualifies for an LSAC Fee Waiver at no cost through our Barrier Breakers Scholars Program.

Strategy Calls 

Have a specific admissions question?
Book a one-hour strategy call.

A strategy call is a focused, one-hour advising session designed to help you make a plan, talk through your options, and get personalized guidance on a specific part of your admissions process.

Strategy calls are best for questions like:

  • What should I do if I’ve been waitlisted?

  • How should I approach scholarship negotiation?

  • What is the strongest application strategy for my situation?

  • How should I prepare for an upcoming interview?

  • Which schools or next steps make the most sense for me?​

Please note: Strategy calls do not include essay editing.
​

A strategy call is a live advising session. It cannot be used for written essay feedback, line edits, document review, or edits to application materials.

​

If you would like support with essays, written materials, or a mix of editing and advising, please purchase one of our hourly advising blocks instead.

 

Hourly blocks are available in 3-hour and 5-hour options and may be used for essay editing, document review, strategy calls, or a combination of support.

Need flexible support for essays, strategy, or both?

ALL our hourly blocks come with free continuous mentorship to you every semester of law school through check-ins, workshops, and resources as part of our non-profit mission to increase our students' success in law school and job placement rates.

Purchase an hourly advising block if you want flexible support that can be used for essay feedback, application strategy, live Zoom meetings, or a combination of services.

Hourly blocks can be used for:

  • Essay review and written feedback

  • Personal statements

  • Optional essays

  • Scholarship or fellowship essays

  • Resumes and addenda

  • Waitlist strategy

  • Scholarship negotiation

  • Application strategy

  • Interview preparation

  • Zoom advising meetings

Please note: 

​

  • Hourly blocks are available in 3-hour and 5-hour packages.

  • Hours expire 12 months from the date of purchase.

  • Essay support is billed based on the time required for review and feedback.

  • A minimum of 30 minutes is billed for each essay or document reviewed.

  • Zoom meetings are billed based on the scheduled meeting length.
