Frequently Asked Questions
I'm not sure I can afford it. What should I do?
We're committed to affordability and accessibility here. As a part of the non-profit Barrier Breakers®, Inc., we offer discounts to BIPOC, first-generation, and other marginalized applicants. Read more on our discounts here!
Every boot camp also comes with a payment plan, if needed.
If you’re still not sure you can afford it, please reach out to us at hello@barrier-breakers.org. Your investment in yourself today could literally save you hundreds of thousands of dollars in law school tuition. More than 56% of our students receive at least a half-tuition scholarship to law school. Don't pay more for law school than you need to.
How can I fit this into my busy schedule?
You can expect to do 2-4 hours of work each week of the Personal & Diversity Statement Boot Camp. Each of our boot camp class is recorded, so if there are one or two classes that you need to miss because of work, you'll never be far behind. However, we do ask that you attempt to attend every meeting for the boot camp you’ve registered for.
We're closely monitoring your progress to make sure that you don't fall behind and that you are maximizing your time with us. If you're still concerned, though, we encourage you to check out our private consulting options.
Is this format right for me?
People have asked us: What are the boot camps like? Are you just talking at us for an hour?
The answer is definitely no. The group meetings are working meetings where you get your questions answered, you are given live feedback on your documents, brainstorming and talking through your roadblocks, and you are making real progress in each and every class. This is why we cap the number of students at five, so we can give you that personalized attention.
In addition, you will get four one-on-one sessions, additional essay editing time, and your instructor will be available to you every week during office hours.
